Emerge Submerge appears out of an undefined area of action and reflection, where space and subject mix with each other. It consists of a group of drawings, photos and videos, image and text compilation that finally lead to the sound piece Overview V and later on to Emerge Submerge sound-piece and Dia-projection. Developed in Berlin, between November 2012 and March 2013.
… In this piece movements from the space are integrated in the subject, as movements from the subject are integrating themselves in the space. Space and subject are in permanent transition.
First an individual movement into deep thick dark blue liquid: one is looking for extracting petrified fluids. Inside this thick dark blue lake, organic fluids mineralize and become stones and then crystals. Metamorphic stones were other kind of stones before. They result out of high pressures, high temperatures and time. Once found, one is extracting them, in a movement towards the outside. Structures block fluids if they come from the outside. They should rather result from within the fluids. These live, move, transfer and adapt. They create forms and leave traces. Continuous movements draw real time organisms. They should be sustained, if we want to. If existence is what we see in concrete manifestations (physical) then what is the name for all the other occurrences?
